The Women of The Marrakech Oudaya Prison

Anou artisans have partnered with the Moroccan National Direction of Prisons and the NGO Relais Prison to extend the Anou artisan marketplace to the women of Oudaya Prison in Marrakech. Through this unique collaboration, incarcerated women receive hands-on training from Morocco’s top artisans, gain access to sustainable materials, and have the opportunity to sell their creations alongside Anou artisans —both online and in Anou retail stores.

This initiative marks a significant shift from the standard prison labor system, where work is often compensated at just 20 MAD per day. In contrast, participants in this program receive 100% of the proceeds from the sale of their products—ensuring their work directly benefits their future.
