Nourdine has lived in Marrakech all his life. He was always was a talented painter. As such, he took up an interest in caligraphy and over time expanded his creative output to the art he creates today. Despite his growth, he remains true to his roots by decorating the backside of his paintings with caligraphy -- his first love with painting. Today, Nourdin continues to paint from his studio in Marrakech. His work as a painter to supports his wife and their six children.

Nourdin Boukhir hosts visitors in their village — share tea, watch the artisans at work, and see the craft up close. Visits start at $42 per person, and most of it goes straight to the group.
