MEET THE MAKERS
Yemena Harkati
Yemena has lived in Zaowia all her life and neither married nor attended school. Because of this she is fully dependent on the sales of her carpets to sustain her livelihood. When she canβt make ends meet, her brother, who currently works in the northen Moroccan city of Tangier, provides needed financial support. If Yemena is able to sell more of her carpets, she hopes that she can live a comfortable, independent life in Zaowia and bring her brother back home.
