Mendell fabric is most commonly used as the fabric to make djellaba, Morocco's traditional dress. However, they are also used as rugs and bed coverings, adding decoration and color.
Mahjouba, one of the founders of the Zohour Cooperative, was born in 1977 in Beni Moussi. She reached the 5th grade and dropped out of elementary school. She has been involved in the craft world, thanks to her mother, who taught her the basics of weaving. She hopes that all women in the association can make a better living and make the local products known through exhibitions and marketing all over the world. Mahjouba uses her income on her personal and family needs.
