A pile-knot rug intricately designed and used as a reversible rug. There is a summer side, where the pile side is placed face down on the ground to keep things cooler. In winter, the pile side is placed facing up to provide warmth.
Depending on the size of the rug, it can take several weeks to complete. Each knot is tied and cut individually, so one person can produce only about one meter per week.
Habiba is born in Ait Attou in 1971. She is a widow and she is the mother of 4 children. She learned weaving from her mother at a young age. She is an artisan rug weaver and her hobby is cooking.
