Fatima Ahzmad was born on April 4, 1970 in Figuig. After her father’s retirement, she moved back to her home village of Ikhef nighir, a village in Ait Bouguemez (“the happy
valley”) of the High Atlas. After returning home, she married, and now has two daughters and two sons. Her love for weaving started when she was a teenager thanks to her mother who helped her learn about making rugs. Fatima joined Numedia Tabudrart in 2019.
Sophia Ait Elhoussine was born in 1960 in Timgallouna, a village located on the
M’goun River in the Rose Valley of the High Atlas. She moved to Ait Bouguemez after getting married. Unfortunately, in the beginning of November 2020, Sfia’s husband was one of the victims of Covid 19 and she is now a widow. As it is the case for most of the ladies of Numedia Tabudrart Coop, she learned the techniques of weaving when she was young
thanks to the support of her mother.
