ABOUT THE ARTISANS

Cooperative Nahda

Nahda means renaissance. The association was started in 2008 in Oued Ifrane (also called Souq El Hed) by three men, Mustapha Chaouai, Said Degousi and Hassan Skuri, to create better-paid work in their village. It grew to give the women of the village weaving work at home, instead of travelling to other areas for farm work.

Getting there: Oued Ifrane is about 2 hours 15 minutes from Fez by road. You can add transport when you book.
