ABOUT NORDINE
Nourdine is one of the most beloved artisans within the Anou Community. Nourdine paints comical dipictions of traditional and contempoary life in Morocco. He hopes that through his work he is able to make people laugh.
THE PROBLEM
The Moroccan Ministry of Culture has a policy that requires the Minister of Culture themselves to personally sign off on each painting shipped out of Morocco. Despite our best efforts, this inspection has now been delaying Nourdine's shipments by over six months. While this is incredibly frustrating, we do take solace that the Minister of Culture has to review paintings of cats licking themselves or other hilarious scenes from Nourdine's paintings.
THE SOLUTION (WE HOPE)
To bring attention to this, we're sending a hand written letter requesting the Minister meet with Anou's artisan leaders and Noudine to find a solution. Along with the letter, we're gifting the Minister a Nourdine handpainted tablet of Moon 'bathing' himself...which the Minister cannot officially accept until he approves it. Classic.
HOW YOU CAN HELP!
One letter and painting won't be enough. So we're launching the Pet Lobby Campaign! Upload an image of your pet (cat or dog) and for $65 USD (shipping included) Nourdine will paint your pet as he did Moon, 'bathing' themselves. We hope that if we are able to sell and ship hundreds of pets 'bathing' themselves, we'll break the system and get the attention of the Minister to work with us and solve this issue once and for all.
