MEET THE MAKERS
Fatoush Mhjouba
Ftoush is a Tadula Zanfi native. She is widowed and has four sons, three of whom all work in different parts of a small university in the southern city of Agadir. The fourth son is still studying at another university in Agadir. Fatoush has been a member of the association since 2008 and specializes in weaving pile rugs. She benefits from the association, but believes she and the women could benefit more if they were able to attend more craft fairs. With more income, she would save up so she could go visit her children and her grandchildren. Until then, she hopes that the association will continue to improve!
VISIT THE VILLAGE
Association Timouzounin hosts visitors in their village — share tea, watch the artisans at work, and see the craft up close. Visits start at $21 per person, and most of it goes straight to the group.
