Khadija was born in Zaouia. She is currently divorced and the mother to a four year old boy. She learned to weave at a young age in her home. She makes beautiful rugs, and hopes to continue creating new designs.
Khadija loves visiting Azaro. She gives everything she earns to her child, and hopes to be able to give him a full education.
Naima is from Kassa Zaouia and is the mother of two children, one boy and one girl. She learned to weave in her home at a very young age. She joined Association Zaouia in 2012, where she sells unique handmade rugs.
Naima hopes that she can earn income from the association so that she may one day complete her Hajj.
Handira rugs used to be placed in every home. It was considered to be a piece of clothing that would be worn
outside. It is now used for decoration and gifted to young women about to be wed.
