The designs made by the association are rooted in the long weaving history of the region. Many of these rugs, known as Taznakht rugs, are made distinct by bright reds and yellows, colors that represent the landscape in which the rugs were made.
Bouassi Safia was born in the late 70’s and is originally from Tadula Zanfi. Safia never attended school, but she has been determined to read and write, and is currently taking literacy classes offered by the association. She learned how to weave from her mom and hopes to use her weaving skills within the association to support her four children as they are currently studying in school.
