Rabha was born in the city of Sidi Yahya. She is currently divorced and has one 8 year old son. She lives with her family and knits to be able to cover her son's expenses. She started weaving when she was 17 years old, and learned from her mother.
Rabha knows how to make high quality rugs and how to make fibers out of wool. She has been with the association since it began in 2011. She even produced the first rug for the association. She spends her income on her son's education. She hopes one day to earn a better income in order to build a home where she can stay with her only son. She loves the warm weather and spends her free time relaxing at home.
Fatima was born in Ait Chaaouali. She moved to Sidi Yahya after getting married and has three children. Her
son is currently attending high school, very far away from home. While her other son dropped out due to the distance. Her youngest daughter is 3 years old.
Fatima learned how to weave at her home growing up and makes Beni-Ourain rugs. She joined Association Zaouia in 2012. Her goal is to help her children finish school and graduate.
Handira rugs used to be placed in every home. It was considered to be a piece of clothing that would be worn
outside. It is now used for decoration and gifted to young women about to be wed.
