This colorful table accessory is made using traditional Tahrouit design. The designs stem from a blend of Amazigh and Saharan cultures and most designs carry special meaning. For example, some designs note if a woman is married or if a woman is single.
Hassania is 42 years old. She is married and has 4 kids. She finished middle school and joined the association afterwards. She learned how to make Tahrouit thanks to her sister who was a mentor in “ La Maison des Jeunes,“ which is a social and educational center in her town, Goulmima. She knows how to sew and hopes that the association contributes to making Tahrouit popular and famous.
