The designs made by the association are rooted in the long weaving history of the region. Many of these rugs, known as Taznakht rugs, are made distinct by bright reds and yellows, colors that represent the landscape in which the rugs were made. These bohemian style rugs have a contemporary feel while incorporating traditional Moroccan designs.

Bouassi Safia

Bouassi Safia

Bouassi Safia was born in the late 70โ€™s and is originally from Tadula Zanfi. Safia never attended school, but she has been determined to read and write, and is currently taking literacy classes offered by the association. She learned how to weave from her mom and hopes to use her weaving skills within the association to support her four children as they are currently studying in school.

Hasna Tjda

Hasna Tjda

Hasna was born in the 1970โ€™s. When she was younger, she moved to Tadula Zanfi because her dad found work in the local area as a miner. Her oldest son and daughter are both enrolled in high school and her younger daughter is still in elementary school. Hasna joined the association when it was first established and has loved working within it ever since, even though it only produces a small amount of income. She hopes that the sales can eventually improve so she can earn enough money to cover all the costs of putting her children through school.
