Rabha Aohaddou

Rabha Aohaddou

Rabha was born in the city of Sidi Yahya. She is currently divorced and has one 8 year old son. She lives with her family and knits to be able to cover her son's expenses. She started weaving when she was 17 years old, and learned from her mother. Rabha knows how to make high quality rugs and how to make fibers out of wool. She has been with the association since it began in 2011. She even produced the first rug for the association. She spends her income on her son's education. She hopes one day to earn a better income in order to build a home where she can stay with her only son. She loves the warm weather and spends her free time relaxing at home.

Fathma Zerda

Fathma Zerda

Fathma was born in Ait Heddab and moved to Sidi Yahya Ou Youssef after marrying her husband. They have eight kids: four daughters, three of which are married and one who is pursuing her studies. And four sons, three of which travel around doing small jobs and one who is pursuing quranic studies in the city of Agadir. She joined the weaver’s association, like most women, to help her family earn a better income in 2012. Fathma learned to weave when she was ten from her mother. She makes beni-ourain, handira and hanbel rugs. When she is not making rugs, she spends her time teaching other women how to weave. Her goal is to support her family members financially.
