Planning a visit to Morocco's only artisan-run store? Here's everything you need to know about getting to our space in the heart of the Fes medina.
Where to Find Us
The Anou Artisan Store is located at 9 Derb Megana in the Old City of Fes, right next door to Cafe Clock and just steps from Bab Boujloud (the famous Blue Gate). Once you reach the Blue Gate, it's just two turns to our door!

Flying from the US
If you're flying from the United States, you have several options for getting to Fes.
Option 1: Fly to Casablanca + Train to Fes
Many international flights arrive in Casablanca. From there, you can take a train to Fes (about 4 hours). The trains are comfortable and a great way to see the countryside, though it can feel like a long journey after an international flight. If you'd prefer to rest first, we recommend the Ibis Casa Voyageurs—it's clean, affordable, and staffed 24 hours, which is perfect if you're arriving on a late flight.
Train details (as of December 2025):
- Casablanca Airport to Casa Voyageurs station: 80 MAD (~$8 USD) for first class. Note: the last train departs at 11pm, so if your flight arrives late, you may need a taxi instead (around 300 MAD / $30 USD).
- Casa Voyageurs to Fes: 240 MAD (~$24 USD) for first class, which we highly recommend. Seats are assigned in first class.
- Book tickets in advance at https://www.oncf-voyages.ma
The trains generally have air conditioning (though it can occasionally break down), making them comfortable for summer travel. That said, during the hottest months we recommend avoiding midday trains if possible.
Option 2: Fly via a European Hub
If you have flexibility or want cheaper fares, consider flying to a major European capital first, then onward to Morocco. Direct flights to Casablanca from the US are limited and often expensive. There are direct flights to Fes from many European cities. From our experience, London and Paris are the cheapest. Currently, the cheapest route from the US to Fes is often to fly to London, then catch a direct Ryanair flight from London Stansted to Fes (3 flights per week as of now). Direct flights from London to Fes can be as little as $40 USD. You can book at www.ryanair.com.
Coming from Marrakech
If you're flying into Marrakech or visiting there first, we highly recommend flying to Fes on Ryanair. Tickets can be as low as $25 and the flight is only about 45 minutes. The train from Marrakech to Fes takes over 7 hours, so flying is definitely the way to go.
Getting to Marrakech airport:
- Taxi from Jemaa El Fna: approximately 150 MAD (~$15 USD)
- Bus from Jemaa El Fna: 30 MAD (~$3 USD), departing every 30 minutes
Once you arrive at Fes airport, a taxi to Bab Boujloud costs about 150 MAD (~$15 USD). Let us know if you'd like us to arrange this for you in advance.
Coming from Chefchaouen
We recommend taking the CTM bus. CTM buses are reliable, comfortable, and air-conditioned. You can book tickets at https://ctm.ma.
Flying from Europe
First, check if your local major city has direct flights to Fes. If not, flying to Casablanca and taking the train may be your best bet.
If timing works out, you're more than likely to find a cheaper flight to Marrakech, so you could stay there for a night or try to catch a connecting flight from Marrakech to Fes. The Fes/Marrakech flight often leaves at night (the schedule changes, so check ryanair.com for latest flight times), which means you can easily arrive in Marrakech and make the Fes flight the same day. The domestic terminal at Marrakech airport is very small, so you don't need much time to get from international arrivals to domestic check-in.
Arriving in Fes
Once your train arrives at Fes station, you'll find taxis right outside. The fare to Bab Boujloud should be no more than 20 MAD (~$2 USD). Taxis in Fes are generally honest and reliable on pricing (unlike their cousins in Marrakech!).
If you have a booked residency visit and are arriving at night, we'll have someone from the team meet you at the train station.
Driving to Fes
If you're driving, there is ample parking near Bab Boujloud which costs around 30-40 MAD (~$3-4 USD) per day. Check out this map we put together on Google Maps and will show you the two parking lots we recommend and are safe to leave your car for the duration of your stay.
