Cooperative Albasma is in Youssoufia region, a town in Youssoufia province about 60 miles from Marrakech and it is known for its high production of phosphate. It was established to address the local women’s needs and passion for sewing and embroidery. Albasma is a fitting name as it means Smile, since it came to life thanks to the hard work of women to draw smiles in artisans’ faces. The cooperative represents for women in the village a space where they can enhance their skills and provides meaningful income and training
