Cooperative Alfalah is located in Oualmass, one of the mountainous cities of Morocco, 95Km South of Khemissat City, and 75Km West of Khenifra City. It is famous for its Juniper, Oak and Pines trees. The residents of Oualmass rely on agriculture and cattle raising as their main livelihood. As for the women, they focus on handicrafts, especially the making of the very famous Zemmouri Carpet, a unique type that is becoming very hard to acquire or find in markets. Further, due to the very difficult climate in Oualmass, and the distance from the markets, the locals have difficulty marketing their beautiful products. Therefore, Yamna Bolhind and other women created Alfalah Cooperative in 1997 in order to preserve this heritage and help other women improve their skills and quality of their products.
