Aicha Abrik is a Tadule Zanfi native. Aicha only spent one year in school before having to leave to support her family. While supporting her family at home, she learned how to weave from her mom and other relatives. She specializes in pile knot rugs and can also make some impressive embroidered designs.
Aich Qayou was born in the late 1970’s. She learned how to weave from her mother at a young age and then joined the association in 2008. Through her work at the association, she hopes that one day she can earn enough income to build her own private house. In her free time she likes to watch Turkish soap operas and hopes that in the future she will have the income to travel more.
Latifa Inzik is a Tadula Zanfi native. She is divorced and has a boy and daughter who are both studying in primary school. She and a group of women in her village decided to form the association in order to showcase their work. Unfortunately, the association hasn’t produced as many sales as they had hoped since they haven’t been able to travel to many shows. Today, Latifa lives at home with her parents and any income she generates from her sales she invests in her children. With increased sales she would like to build a home for her and her children and provide them with the means to travel.
Samira was born in Tadula Zanfi in the early 90’s. She attended school until the sixth grade. She learned how to weave from her mother but has continued to improve and diversify her skills in weaving and embroidery at her association. She hopes that through the association she will be able to continue developing her skills so she and her family can live a peaceful, stable life.
Aisha was born in 1982, in Teduit ZanFi. She is not married and dropped out of school after the fourth grade. Aisha learned the craft of weaving from her mother after she stopped attending school. Aisha has other skills in handicraft that she sells through this association. From this association, she has been able to earn a meaningful amount of income to assist her family.
