Cooperative Asssalam is in Oulmes, a village that sits on the Juniper covered foothills of the Middle Atlas Mountains. The towns inhabitants focus primarily on agriculture, cattle raising, and handicrafts. The abundance of Juniper trees has given rise to a large carving community. A group of these carvers decided to form a cooperative in order to ensure that their craft and natural resources could be preserved.
