Fatima was born in Ait Hamza and currently lives with her parents to take care of them. She was the oldest of all her siblings and was responsible for all the housework growing up so she could not attend school. She loves working at the cooperative because she feels that all the members are her family members. She would continue to work at the cooperative even if she was unable to make any income from it. When she isn’t working a the cooperative, she works as a seamstress in a small sewing shop in the village. She feels that she has everything that she needs in life and will use her money to support her parents as they become older.
This decorative pillow is created using the traditional Hanbal weaving technique. The women create the weave on a loom, then sew multiple sides of the pillow together by hand. The pillows come unstuffed.
