Lahcen Boukrim
Lahcen was born in 1987 and attended school through the sixth grade. He left school because his family could not afford the fees, and then focused his time on learning and practicing the craft of ceramics. He now focuses on lamp making because the particular patterns of lamps are unique to this area because the Jewish people who used to live there brought this craft to the region. Lahcen hopes one day to have a proper workshop of his own to develop and improve his craft. He hopes that his products will flourish on Anou, and will be recognized in larger national and global artisan marketplaces and exhibitions. More than anything, Lahcen wants to end the power of the middleman.
