Asmae was born in 1993 in Taroudant. She studied until 4th grade before deciding to drop out. She met her husband when he used to work in her hometown and moved with him to Ourika after they married. He now works as a waiter in one of the cafes that attract tourists of the region. Asmae joined the cooperative so she can help her husband in supporting their family. She learned weaving from the women of the village after her marriage because weaving isn’t common in her hometown. She now specializes in hanbel rugs.
